If you hate time wasters, then you will probably be happy with this Bissell since it is the total opposite of a time waster. You do not have to go over the same spot a number of times just to get out the dirt from your carpet or hard floor. It is a one pass vacuum with a really strong motor that will suck up dirt in seconds.
Another feature that saves you time is the bagless canister. With this, you do not struggle emptying the bin. First of all, it is really easy to remove when you want to empty it and with the touch of a button, it will release the dirt right into the collection bin without you having to get your hands dirty.
Another thing about this vacuum is that the filter is really easy to clean. The multi-cyclonic technology somehow manages to separate debris from dirt so that the filter will not be as dirty as for those of so many other vacuums, you can also get the filter out easily and first.
If you have a large room to clean, you may worry that your hands will get tired of pushing and pulling an upright vacuum, but unlike most upright vacuums, this one is incredibly lightweight so the burden on your arms is limited.
For many vacuums, it is the accessories it comes with that will determine how much you will do with it. This one has a turbo brush tool which you can use on the stairs but it can also be used to clean upholstery and furniture. It has a long enough hose that stretches when you need it to so that you do not have to move the entire vacuum when cleaning stairs and above ground spots.
On testing this vacuum, it was hard to believe that it actually goes for under 100 dollars. It is indeed value for money.
Very few stick vacuums can boast of a high customer rating as this Dirt Devil Simpli Stik an that is because of a combination of factors. This unit, first of all, is a 3 in 1. You have an ordinary upright stick vacuum for the floors, then you can transform it into a handheld dirt buster or you can use it as a crevice tool. You are getting value for money here and yet the money you spend is not a lot at all.
The vacuum is made entirely of plastic, but it is still durable and the plastic also contributes to it being lightweight. It weighs just 4 pounds and it can be lighter when you are using it as a handheld dirt buster.
Everything you will need is right there attaché to the vacuum including the crevice tool which is quite handy. But when you take it apart say to use it as a handheld tool, there is nowhere to put the foot or the stick so you will just have to learn how to be tidy and put them away where you will not trip over them as you vacuum.
Its power is quite incredible and yet it will not take up a lot of electricity. You can quickly vacuum your floor with one or two passes over the same sport for it to get all the dirt. It is also able to vacuum the edges quite effectively and it transitions from one surface to another with ease.
There are 2 plastic wheels made from soft plastic so that it will not scratch your floors and they glide easily over different surfaces.
The cord on this vacuum is 16 feet, which I will admit is not very long but this is not a vacuum you use for the entire house so it is long enough and the cord can be wound onto the unit when in storage.
For people who do not like the idea of having to be restricted by a power cord, this is a good option. The shark Navigator Freestyle is a cordless vacuum so there is no limit to how far from a socket you can go. It is also able to transform into a handheld vacuum. Most customers who recommend this vacuum say it is particularly good for pet owners and that is because of its brush roll which will get pet hair out of carpets and furniture.
Personally I find it a good vacuum to use for the car since it has no cord and it has an inbuilt crevice tool which is just right for getting crumbs out of tight spaces like just where the seat meets the backrest in the car, which seems to be a favourite hiding place for all kinds of dirt and crumbs.
While it has a large bin for longer periods of cleaning, this SV1106 is impressively lightweight. Weighing just 7 pounds, you can very easily run up the stairs with it and you only need to be careful not to bang it against the wall or rails.
For a battery operated vacuum, it has a fairly short charging time of 4 hours and with a single charge, you will have between 12 and 17 minutes of full suction depending on the motor speed you choose. It works well for quick clean ups but it may not be your choice for spring cleaning or general weekly cleaning. I think if you have a hairy pet, this is what you can call upon for those spot cleanups.
All in all, it is a good cordless vacuum at an affordable price.
Now, this is another cordless vacuum under 100 but it has more powerful suction which enables it to do deep cleaning of carpets, unlike the Shark Free Style. They have a number of similarities but you will need to be ready to pay more for this one than for the shark.
First off, this Hoover has wind tunnel technology and that is what it uses to produce powerful suction that will pull dirt or even hair from deep within a carpet to leave it clean. It will also perform impressively on hard floors as well.
It runs on interchangeable lithium batteries which produce fade free suction. The battery also has a gauge which will show you how much power is left so that you are not caught unaware when the battery finally runs out.
With the fact that the battery will eventually run out, this vacuum was made with a wide head and that helps it to clean a wider area at a go so that even after the battery is removed, you will have cleaned quite a wide area. It is also quite effective when it comes to cleaning edges.
The stick is quite flexible as it swivels to allow you clean around furniture legs and under low chairs without having to move them. The controls are also well placed on the handle so that you can easily access them.
When you are done vacuuming, you will naturally want to empty the bin and this is very easy as the bin comes off quick and easy and it has a bottom lid so that you can dump its contents without having to tilt or tip the bin.
It weighs just 12 pounds and is durable with a warranty of 2 years.
There are a few pitfalls that are quite common when buying vacuums under 100. These usually come about because customers are looking to save money and they end up failing to notice these pitfalls.
1- Being too desperate: Quite often you decide to buy an affordable vacuum when you are in desperate need to replace one that is spoiled. Being too desperate will make you fall prey to people who are just out to make a quick bark. They do not mind what they sell to you and they also can give you a price that is not fair. Do not rush into making a decision and do not for one moment think that because your budget is below 100 dollars you do not deserve something good.
2- Compromising quality: Related to being desperate is compromising on quality. You should not think that you cannot find quality vacuums at the price you want. Many manufacturers are making budget-friendly products that are still able to last long and have useful features.
3- Ignoring warranty: We would advise that you never buy something that does not have a warranty. The warranty is your assurance that the maker or the seller trusts their product and are willing to replace or repair it if it fails to work as it is supposed to during the period stated on the warranty. Always check to see how long the warranty is for and do not go for anything that is below 1 year.
What to take into account when buying a vacuum
Suction
Accessory tools
The accessory tools help you clean up pet hair from different places, for example, some vacuums have motorized brushes which help to give your carpets a deep clean and tackle tangled pet hair in the carpets, they are also good for dealing with sofas. If you have a lot of tight spaces that end up with pet hair, it is a good idea to have a crevice tool. When buying a vacuum, consider what accessories you may need and see if you will get them with a particular model.
Debris management
It is important to know how whatever is sucked in is managed, this includes the pet hair and dirt along with microbes and allergens. If you have allergies, this is a very important feature to take note of. The best vacuums will be able to keep such items sealed within so that they do not escape into the air and trigger allergies. You need to know if they have filter systems designed to handle pet hair. It is also good to find those that allow you to empty the bin without having to get into contact with whatever you may be throwing away. Many modern vacuums have a single touch emptying system, the bagged vacuums also have disposable bags so that you do not have to touch the rubbish.
Weight
This may depend on your strength, if you are going to be carrying the vacuum around, for example, a handheld vacuum, you need to have a vacuum that is easy to carry for long without getting tired. There are a number of light handheld vacuums. If you are interested in an upright vacuum, you should be able to push it around and pull it with ease so that you do not get tired.
Noise level
We all have different sensitivity to sound, but there are still certain sound levels that may be ridiculously high. If for example, you will be vacuuming when people are sleeping, say early in the morning or while having a conversation on phone. Many of the manufacturers these days endeavor to have vacuums with a decibel count of under 80db.
Durability
This applies to just about everything you buy, you would like it to last long. Some of the things that can determine its durability include the material used to construct it. If it is plastic for example, it is a good idea to have hard and durable plastic. It may not be easy to tell online if the plastic is hard, but you can read customer reviews that will give you insight into how durable the vacuum may be. Do not forget also to check the warranty as it can let you know how much trust the seller has in their product.
In my opinion, this is one of the most beautiful vacuums under 100, but you do not buy a vacuum just to look at and the guys and Bissell knew that when they made this 1831. Just like the one we saw before, it has one pass technology, this enables you to clean much faster without having to go over the same spot over and over again.
It also employs multi-cyclonic system which prevents the dirt from escaping back into the air so if you have allergies this is a vacuum you may want to consider. This system also protects the filter from getting too dirty and that translates into a longer life for the filter. The filter system is also multi-level which contributes to cleaner air. You can wash the filter from time to time and reuse it.
This vacuum can be used on different surfaces as it is made with a height adjuster. You can adjust the level of the cleaning foot to match the surface you are cleaning, be it tiles or thick carpet. There are 5 different levels you can choose from and it is all manual adjustment.
To add to that, you can use a turbo tool for the stairs so that you do not have to carry the entire vacuum up every stair as you vacuum. You can also use this turbo tool on your couch to remove pet hair. There are other tools that you can attach to the hose like a crevice tool and a dusting brush it also has an extension wand which comes in handy if you are cleaning curtains or trying to remove cobwebs on the walls.
Other features include the 25-foot power cord, a 6-foot hose and a 2.0-liter bin which is ample for entire house cleaning without having to empty the bin halfway through the task.
This is a truly innovative design. The V-shaped head solves the problem you may have been having with other vacuums that cannot clean areas around the leg of a table or the bowl of your pet.
The V shape makes the performance of this vacuum exceptional. It is able to clean around the legs of furniture with ease. The V shape also wipes dirt toward the center where the suction is strongest.
This vacuum was designed for hard floors so unfortunately if you have carpet, it is not a good fit for you.
It has a strong motor which will have dirt, debris and hair sucked up quickly. To ensure that the hair does not escape, it has a rubber on the bottom which attracts the hair to the part of the vacuum where the suction is greatest.
You will have reasonable reach with this vacuum since it has a 20-foot cord which would be sufficient for a small house. The vacuum is also lightweight which will make it easier for you to push around or even your 7-year-old or older can help with the vacuuming.
The bin is made of solid plastic so even if it fell down as you carry it to the dump bin, there is very little risk of it cracking or breaking.
Each vacuum here on this list of best vacuum under 100, has one or more features that may impress you and they all come highly recommended, though when we take all things into consideration, the Bissell 9595A, is probably the best choice. Its one pass technology saves time so you can even do a quick vacuum of the living room before you leave for work.
Its price too is quite affordable in comparison to the other Bissells on this list with similar one pass technology.
This vacuum can be used for carpets as well as hard floors and you can even use it on the stairs, so if you were to choose just one vacuum to have for everything, we would highly recommend this one as it ticks most of the boxes for best vacuum.
If on the other hand, you prefer cordless vacuums, you again can choose the Bissell Cleanview Upright 1831 which has similar features to the Bissell 9595A, but you are still able to go as far as you like without having to worry about cord length, it may not be your choice for entire home vacuuming but for quick jobs, it is just right. And if you have to deal with edges, maybe the V-shaped one is a good fit for you.
